ADULT SUPPORT

ADULT CARER SUPPORT WORKERS – Betty Mattison and Kate Fleming 

Between us we cover the Hambleton and Richmondshire areas, supporting people who care for relatives or friends.  This usually involves visiting them at home to discuss how we can help.

This may involve regular visits or calls to give on-going support to the carer or we sometimes liaise with other appropriate professionals: e.g. we may contact Social Services on the ‘Carer’s behalf for assessments, for help in the home, adaptations, respite care etc.. 

We can advise on benefit entitlements for the carer or the ‘cared’ for, obtaining and helping to complete the forms. 

We can help to arrange grants for holidays and equipment and will also signpost the carer to any other specialist organisations.  We work closely with our colleague, Chris, who arranges support for Older Carers. 

We run Carers groups in Northallerton, Richmond, Thirsk , Great Ayton, Hutton Rudby, Easingwold, Catterick and Leyburn and Kate arranges outings for these.

We are hoping to arrange a Luncheon Club in the near future and further details will be posted on the website.
